It’s officially cold and flu season! Wake up your immune system and taste buds with this delicious lemon ginger immunity shot!

Ginger and cayenne pepper bring the health benefits—ginger is anti-inflammatory and packed with antioxidants, while cayenne is rich in nutrients like vitamins A, B, C, and E. A small amount of honey adds a touch of sweetness and natural antimicrobial properties.

This 6-ingredient recipe is quick and simple, with no juicer needed! Follow the directions below to make four servings:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lemon (with peel, washed thoroughly)
  • 3-inch piece of fresh ginger root
  • 1-inch piece of fresh turmeric root
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of honey (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup of water (add more if needed)

Instructions:

  1. Wash the lemon thoroughly to remove any residue or wax from the peel. Chop the lemon (with the peel on), ginger, and turmeric into smaller pieces for easier blending.
  2. Add all ingredients, including the water and honey, to a blender. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into a nut milk bag or cheesecloth and squeeze to extract the juice into a glass.
  4. Enjoy immediately or store in a sealed glass container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Pro Tip: Don’t throw away the pulp! It can be added to baked goods, soups, or frozen in ice cube trays for later use in smoothies or tea.
